Have you ever wondered what Jesus has to say about time and money? Is it even okay for us to talk about these topics at LifeGroup?
We think the answer is a resounding yes. And here’s why: It’s easy to think only certain parts of our lives our spiritual, and sometimes time and money feel like they fit in the “not spiritual” part of our lives. But following Jesus requires a whole-life response, which includes resources like time and money.
God cares about how we manage our resources because the way we use them is often a reflection of what we believe about Him.
God cares about how we manage our resources because the way we use them is often a reflection of what we believe about Him. So although these topics can feel very action-oriented and practical, it’s important to slow down and see what Jesus has to say about them. And that’s exactly what we’re doing this season.
We’re exploring big questions like:
-
- Is the Bible sending mixed messages about time and money?
- Can you budget and still have fun?
- Is it selfish to build wealth?
- How much money is actually enough?
- How do I do things like budgeting, investing, and saving?
Our hope is that this season empowers you to have honest and vulnerable conversations about how you can use your time and money in a way that honors God.
And because we know these topics can be kind of uncomfortable to talk about, we’ve put together an extra resource to help your LifeGroup talk about finances in a healthy way—without being weird.
Here’s the bottom line: It’s okay to talk about time and money.
And remember, we only have one rule on the podcast: Don’t listen unless you’re talking with others about what you hear. Use these episodes to spark conversations with your LifeGroup, friends, and family.
As always, we’ve got Conversation Guides to help your LifeGroup get talking. And this season, every episode has an extra resource that dives even deeper. Subscribe to get these guides delivered straight to your inbox at: www.life.church/yhis
