Parent Blurb Week 9

This week we talked about three big concepts that are used to describe God. God is omnipotent, which means He is all-powerful. God is also omniscient which means He is all-knowing. And God is omnipresent; He is all-present/everywhere. We talked with your children about how those three concepts in fact influence how we should live our lives.

God knows your thoughts and motives—He knows what you need more than you do. There is nothing He can’t comprehend, understand, or is unaware of. God knows everything.

There is nothing bigger than or greater than God. There is nothing that He can’t handle. God is strong enough to handle anything from all the problems of this world, to the very struggles you find yourself in. Know that God is bigger than anything you are going though. If you feel like you can’t handle your problems, know that there is an all-powerful God who can.

There is nowhere He isn’t. He is always everywhere. There is nowhere His presence doesn’t reach. Anytime you feel alone know that God is right there with you.

Help your child identify the ways they see the strength, knowledge, and presence of God in their lives.

Parent Blurb Week 10

This week we talked about the Trinity–how God is three in one and one in three: Father, Son, and Spirit. We discussed that we were created in the image of God and He is in perfect community with Himself in the Trinity. Because we are created in His image He wants us to also live in community.

This week help your child discover what it means to be in community. Help them come up with ways they can use who they are to build up and strengthen their community (among their friends and in your family).

Parent Blurb Week 11

This week at Roots we talked about how God is intimately and actively involved in our lives. He knows and cares about every detail of our lives. This week help your child identify the different ways they see God intimately and actively involved in their lives.

Parent Blurb Week 12

This week we looked at how God is a creative God. God also created us to have the ability to be creative and create as well. This week help your child identify the different ways that He made them special and unique. Start to draw out the ways that God made them special, and how they can use those specific gifts, talents, and creativity.
