God made all of us with a need for connection. We all need a relationship with Him, and we all need relationships with other people. This need for relationships is why our church hosts regular events called Known.
As you’re talking to people in the Get Connected Space, learn more about their stories and consider if attending Known might be the right next step for them. If so, invite them to come! Find guidance and example talking points below.
How to Talk About Known
Known is a relational way for people to get to know themselves, another person, and our church a little better—this is the heart of what you’ll want to tell attenders about this event. Attending Known could be a great step for many different types of people, like:
-
- New attenders who want to learn more about Life.Church.
- You could say: I’d love to invite you to Known! It’s a really easy way to meet some of our pastors, learn more about who we are as a church, and connect with other people you may see on the weekend.
- Or: You mentioned you’re getting familiar with Life.Church. Known could be a great next step for you. It’s relaxed, welcoming, and designed to help you feel more connected here.
- New believers who want to learn more about what God is calling them to do next.
- You could say: I’m so excited about what God is doing in your life. Known would be a great place to hear more about the next steps available to you and meet people who would love to walk with you as you keep following Jesus.
- Or: You don’t have to figure out your next steps alone. Known is a great event where you can ask questions, meet our pastors, and learn about ways to keep growing in your faith.
- More experienced attenders and believers who are ready to engage with the church more deeply.
- You could say: I love that you’re thinking about getting more connected. Known could be a great way for you to get to know our campus staff even better and discover ways to engage more deeply here.
- Or: If Life.Church already feels like home, Known is a great way to take that even further. It’s a chance to build more relationships, learn what’s happening at our campus, and find meaningful ways to be part of it.
- New attenders who want to learn more about Life.Church.
How to Describe Known
Every Known event comes with the opportunities to meet the campus team, get to know other attenders, and take a next step. Beyond this, every campus runs Known a little differently. If you haven’t attended a Known event in a while, it’s a good idea to check in with your campus team and make sure you know the basics of how Known is run at your location. Known events often include:
-
- An overview of Life.Church’s history
- An introduction to campus team members and their ministries
- An explanation of ways people can get involved through community, serving, and tithing
You could say: Known is a relaxed event where you’ll get to meet our campus team, hear more about Life.Church, and learn about different ways to get connected here.
You don’t need to give someone all the details—just give them a sense of what they would experience at the event.
Why Should Someone Attend Known?
We hope every person who attends a Known event leaves feeling better known—both by campus staff and other attenders they might see on the weekend. This feeling of recognition will help people see their campus as a place where they don’t just attend. It’s a place where they truly belong.
You could say: Our hope is that Known helps you feel more connected here. We don’t want this to just be a place you attend on the weekend. We want it to be a place where you’re known, cared for, and truly belong.
People who attend Known are also encouraged to consider what next step God might be calling them to take. Both attending Known and choosing a next step are ways people can invest in their faith and grow as a follower of Jesus.
