30-Second Theology reminds us that the big game creates a unique opportunity to come together. The best part of the game isn’t just what’s on the screen, it’s who’s on the couch. It’s friends, LifeGroups, food on the table, laughter in the room, and yes, watching the ads together and reflecting in real time. As you prepare to lead your group through 30-Second Theology, here are five tips to make the fellowship fun, focused on Christ, and maybe even football-themed.
- Host a watch party and enjoy the big game with your LifeGroup! Bring some snacks, wear your jersey, laugh at the ads, cheer on your team, and just enjoy being together. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy—just fun!
- Use halftime to catch up with everyone. Share how God’s been working in your life, discuss any prayer requests, or talk about things you’re looking forward to in the coming days. Then, feel free to pray together before the game is back on.
- Ask everyone to share their favorite commercial. Invite them to talk about why they love it so much, even if the commercial isn’t from the big game. Maybe even watch some of the all-time favorite commercials on YouTube together.
- Use the Talk It Over to guide conversation. If football isn’t a favorite for your group, no big deal! Open the Talk It Over on the Life.Church app or at www.life.church/talkitover and use the discussion questions to reflect on the weekend message.
- Just have fun. 30-Second Theology is meant to be lighthearted, community-building, and Christ-centered. As long as the people in your group feel loved and supported by the end of the night, you can call it a win!
