📩 Before the call

• Receive an email that you’ve been assigned a new volunteer to train
• Send the new volunteer our welcome email, specifying when and where you’ll meet

🗣 30 minutes before the service

• Take turns introducing yourselves
• Introduce the 3 goals for this training time:
  • New volunteer is comfortable navigating the Church Online site
  • New volunteer has practiced each of the Chat Host “Big 3” responsibilities
  • New volunteer has been successfully connected to their Host Team Leader
• Open the Chat Host training page, where you’ll find the content you’ll talk through
• Talk through the “Who is Life.Church?” training content
  • Send the Life.Church links email for the volunteer to check out later
• Alternate turns reading our 10 core values and ask which is their favorite
• Talk through the “What is Church Online?” training content
• Talk through the “Our Teams” training content
  • Ask if they’ve joined our volunteer Facebook group (if not, send them the link)
• Set up Church Online account and give First 30 Days permissions
• Give site tour:
  • Guest view: Video, chat tabs, slides, Live Prayer button, social share buttons, log in link
  • Mobile view: Video, public chat, Live Prayer
  • Host Tools view: Host Tools view button, volunteer chat, public chat, Host notes
• Briefly introduce the Chat Host “Big 3” responsibilities: Welcome, Discuss, & Pray
• Talk through the “An Important Note on Google Ads Guests” training content
• Pray over service together

🖥 During the service

• • Introduce the volunteer to the Host Team Leader and team
  • Talk through each of the “Big 3” by modeling them in the service first, letting the volunteer practice, and giving them feedback on how they did
  • Celebrate salvations at the end of the service
  • Confirm that you’ve met the 3 goals for this training time:
    • New volunteer is comfortable navigating the Church Online site
    • New volunteer has practiced each of the Chat Host “Big 3” responsibilities
    • New volunteer has been successfully connected to their Host Team Leader
  • Ensure new volunteer and Host Team Leader have swapped contact info in volunteer chat
  • Review new volunteer’s next steps: Connecting with team outside the service, showing up 15 minutes early to serve again next week, 30-day review for Host tag

📩 After the service

• Email the new volunteer the onboarding follow-up email
• Fill out the onboarding completion form
• Give yourself a high five for helping a new team member join the team!
